Rural Child Empowerment Forum (RUCEF) is a Voluntary Rural Child Oriented Community Based and Non – Profit Organization which was founded in April 2016 and registered in December 2019 under the Registration No. MMC/CBS/10375 with our head offices in the main town of Mbarara Municipality. The CBO was formed as an initiative to advocate for the rural vulnerable child, reach out, empower and support them with basic life skills and school needs to those who are in schools. Our main aim is to address the major challenges facing the most vulnerable children like high rates of school dropouts, drug abuse among desperate and homeless children, Early pregnancies -marriages especially among the rural girl child, and unemployment among the youth who make the most percentage number of Uganda’s total population. All the above challenges are to be addressed through conducting regular career and peer guidance seminars, practical oriented Children – youth Camps, Weekly Radio Talk Shows and dialogues to enhance the levels of Information dissemination to the guardians and parents , organizing Children Retreat Camps, Debates, Brain Quiz Challenge, Talent and Skills shows.
For the previous 3 years, the organization has been conducting several children -youth outreach programs among them include The Rural Girl- Child Community Empowerment outreaches, Peer and Career guidance drives in primary and secondary schools within Mbarara, RUCEF School’s Brain Challenge, Rucef talent search where various youth groups both girls and boys have been given an open platform to showcase their different talents in areas of music, comedy, poetry, public speaking, dance and drama.

Our Main Objectives
- To enhance the spirit of learning and the importance of education among the unprivileged children
- Promote social and economic empowerment of all vulnerable children and youth groups through identifying their talents and helping them to develop these talents
- Educate and equip the youths and other vulnerable young people with practical skills and assist them to make use of their natural talents to develop (singing, sports and games, crafts, computer skills etc.)
- Train the vulnerable youths in vocational, technical business and entrepreneurial skills to develop the abilities necessary to become productive citizen
- To provide an opportunity for the all the children- youth to share their Socio-Economic challenges they face and come up with their own practical and sustainable solutions on how they can be addressed.
- To equip the younger youth with the relevant and right information necessary in their childhood and adolescent growth stages to enable them guard their dear lives against HIV- AIDS and Early pregnancies among girls
